Understanding a ground screw system

A guide to the product, the connection and the equipment that brings them together.

01. Start with the structure.

A ground screw foundation forms a connection between the ground and a supported structure. Before selecting a model, describe the application and show how its posts, beams or base plates will connect. The structure layout and support positions help the technical team understand the intended arrangement.

02. Review the connection.

The Lidaer catalog includes LRA, LRN, LRF, LRU, LRS and LRUM ground screw series. Compare the mounting geometry and the dimensions listed for each model. A photograph introduces the connection, while the model specification and an agreed drawing provide the details needed for review.

03. Read the dimensions together.

Length and shaft diameter are part of the selection discussion. The head dimensions, fixing arrangement and supplied resistance data also need to be considered. Published product figures should be read with their test conditions, the site information and project requirements. A catalog value alone does not establish the foundation capacity at a new site.

04. Include installation equipment.

Consider access, the proposed ground screw and the available installation method together. Portable electric drivers and crawler hydraulic equipment serve different installation situations. Share access constraints, proposed quantities and the intended equipment with the technical team.

05. Prepare a useful enquiry.

Include the structure, location, quantity, available soil information and connection drawings. Identify a model if one is already under consideration. The team can then discuss the relevant product, installation and documentation questions.
